Moving Resonance was performed as a live dance installation that appeared in Winchester Cathedral's Crypt on the 12th and 13th October 2007. It is now an exciting and dynamic photography and video project touring to international festivals and art galleries.

Created by Choreographer Katherine Gilks who was inspired by the Anthony Gormley Sculpture, Sound II, in Winchester Cathedral, Moving Resonance is designed to suggest that there’s more of a story to the statue than you may gain from an immediate viewing.

This new work exploits the sculpture's unusual setting to suggest a narrative, through movement, that sparks the viewer’s imagination.  The tranquillity created by the setting, the dance and the statue suggests some kind of introspection and self contemplation.

The creators believe that dance is a powerful medium which can really enhance the presence of the sculpture by giving it context through movement and will create a new and more thought provoking viewing experience.
